Remembrance Day

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, 106 years ago, The Great War finally came to an end. Between 15 to 22 million soldiers and civilians lost their lives during the conflict, with tens of millions more dying of the Spanish Flu in the following years. Even though the Armistice that would end the war was signed at 5:45 a.m., it wouldn't take effect until 11:00 a.m. of that day. Tragically, 2,738 men lost their lives in the final few hours of the war.

I know the tone of this post is very different from every other post I've made so far. I thought that, with having a game set during WW1, it would be remiss of me not to address what today is. I find that the First World War and those that fought in it are often overshadowed by WW2. While the intensity of the fighting was never as great during WW1 as it was during WW2, those who fought and died in the conflict should be remembered just the same.
